I realise this is as a form of venting, but I sincerely make this plea to everyone. Whatever happens, keep your membership. Because only by retaining your membership do you get to have a say in this club's future.
By keeping your membership, you put yourself in the frame to vote. Right now, due to the policies of the Fitzgerald era, there are a very limited number of members who vote for the football club. Membership of the football club was like a secret society. You had to request forms and then get two existing members to nominate you. Membership of the board that runs the NRL club, is unfortunately voted for by the pokie hoards.
The single most important policy put in place by P3 was to make all regular members, members of the football club. They also promised that they would move the running of the NRL club over to the football club and separate the decision making of the football club from the decision making in regards to the Leagues club. This has not yet happened, and it is a significant sticking point for me,.
My hope is that as the finances improve, P3 keep that promise. That would lead to the situation where in a couple of years time (under present constitution) all 10,000 members of the Eels get to vote on who runs the club and we have a true democratic structure in place.
And that's aside from the fact, that by not renewing your membership, you only serve to financially penalize the club. That achieves nothing and it only means that if you want a change in the management of the club, they come from a powerless base similar to what 3P inherited this time around.
So if your angry, make your voice hear at forums like AGM, this website and anywhere else. But don't let your membership lapse, because it's only through this that you are able to have a say in the running of the club

Regardless of which players leave or join the club, and regardless of who the coach is, I am a Parramatta Eels supporter through and through, and I will always support them passionately no matter what.
I'm in for the long-run.
Also agree with your post entirely Phil! :)
You can bet that I'll be renewing my membership next year too :)
Blue & Gold from birth till death!
I have three kids and they love their Eels, when people stop supporting a club that's when the club dies.
I love it!
Good work by everyone so far that's set to stick by the club :)
