Channel 9 lambasted for not having female commentators

Honestly I am so sick of this garbage!!!!! How dare we have men commentating men's sport --- isn't that the gripe when they don't have women commentating women's sport???? It seems that it doesn't matter now whether you have played the game but what gender you are which qualifies you to commentate. The article makes a special comment that bill Larry "is back this year" implying this is a bad thing. And once again the only "sources" they have for this outrage are twitteraties". When did journalism resort to taking random morons opinions instead of brig evidenced based????? This is not about whether you like those on the commentary team but rather whether it needs to be hojacked by political correctness - so save your "Warnie's a dickhead" post (we all know he is but nonetheless he knows the game). The thing that pisses me off to no end though is the lack of ownership of this article....nowhere does this f$&$&m dog whistler list who they are on the article!! Also there is conviently no option for comment. Gotta protect the journalists hey??? It may be because accessing it by my phone and would be more than happy if anyone sees the author so we can reply..... OMG I feel like poppa here by the length of this post but f$$k it just shits me to tears that this is even approved by an editor for print!!!'

  • Absolute joke it's the ashes we don't require woman commentators when we have the best male commentators who have played the game and experienced the fight for the urn.
Warnie and Bill Lawry to commentate the netball at the commonwealth games.
Ask fatty and the big man how they feel about Erin Molan now!!
  • These Twit f**kwits need to apologise . Channel 9 pioneered female cricket commentators subsequently it failed deluxe and was blacklisted . The lady in question Kate Fitzpatrick .

In 1983, Fitzpatrick became the world's first female cricketing commentator on television, when she joined the Nine Network cricket commentating team, a gamble by Channel Nine to add a more female approach to the game and attract a larger audience. Allegedly, Fitzpatrick was not welcomed with open arms by the (until then) male bastion of cricket commentators, according to Angela Pippos.[3] Nine's tactical move, in placing a female in a cricket commentator role, was not successful and Fitzpatrick didn't return for the following season.

  • Is that your professional opinion Dr dickhead?
    • Horo movie how is the rehab with your legs going ?
    • At least I can have "professional opinion"what you got horo? Your "motivational" posters on the wall of your shitter...good for you I'm sure it gets you up in the morning to live another day of mediocrity. I'm glad you have this site to make you feel valued...
    • Lol.
  • Quite often there is zero outrage. News companies put out stories saying there is an uproar but no uproar exists at all. Don’t fall for the click bait.
    • Agreed Muttman; more rubbish. Ch 9 has always had blokes and so they should - they’re commentating on men playing. Who cares? I am sure the heavily watched women’s ashes was filled with women commentators...and to be honest I dont care.
