Last nights game against the Sharks provided clear evidence as to why Kerian Foran is not a necessary part of our team going forward. I think Corey Norman has developed into a fantastic player for us. Although last night he wasnt as good as he can be. The reason for that was because we had only him as a fifth tackle option, kicker, playmaker. If we had a halfback last night imo we win. We were stoic in the second half in defence and the Sharks were good. Even in the first half IMO even when we took an 18 nil lead, they were playing pretty good. And yet in the last 10 minutes we came back. Even after them scoring two tries that should never have been awarded if the refereeing was up to standard, (Barba's pass was clearly forward and Fafita droped the ball),we were patient, hung on and went within a whisker of winning. So where does that leave Kerian Foran?Chad Townsend is an ordinary half back. In fact of all of the halfbacks who take the field this week, he would rate at around 14th because Ash Taylor was out injured. And yet the Sharks have won 12 on the trot. James Maloney is, like Corey Norman, a very good player. He could have almost any halves partner and the Sharks would still be going well. We have a good five eight, all we now need is a competent halfback and we go from a top four team to a top two team. If Chad Townsend plays for us, we win. In fact if Jeff Robson plays for us last night we win. There is too much pressure on Corey. We have the forwards, we have the outside backs, we have the five eigth, we dont need a $1.2m half back. Someone like Jackson Hastings would be an adequate talent choice for us. If we got him for i would expect not even a third of the price of Foran we could strenghten our reserves and give us the options we need in times of injury. Lets spend our cap more wisely. If the window of opportunity opens and we can move Kerian on, IMO, lets do it.

  • Yeah , why didn't Robbo play last night ?
  • Didn't have the combination hasn't trained to big a game for a mid season transfer

    • Interesting points, isn't that what we had come to the conclusion Foz was anyway- an organising half, many on here think he isn't that great a player , but had the ability to lead.

Lets see what transpires with Robbo, once he trains with us and then plays

    • Jamie Soward?

  • To partner Norman you need a Adam Reynolds type player. Great kicking game and a great defender.Id have to go back to Jason Taylor to the last time we had a great general play kicker, even then that was fleeting. Tim Smith was handy albeit inconsistent. the commentators talk up Ash Taylor and he's a handy footballer but for mine when he's off contract in a couple of years if be signing Te a Marie Martin. He'll be the premier half in the completions before the turn of the decade. The kid has it all.
  • Agree 100%. As much as I like how Foran can lead the team he is quite expensive. Only problem is there aren't many good halves on the market.
  • We need someone like Ben Hampton who has learnt from from some of the greatest players in the game and he would greatly compliment Norman and is very versatile. He isn't getting many minutes at the storm and a slight bump in pay (if Foran goes) should make proceedings to bring him over easy
  • Foran at the top of his game in that Parramatta team last night we would of one for sure. We won't need the kick pressure sort of game with all players on deck because will be a very strong attacking team across the park. Seriously next year you same people will be going so glad we have Foran, how good of a player is he so on crap.
    • at last some sense we need foran as much as a big mac needs special sauce
