Cayless says it's just a tweak

Daniel Anderson wasn't overly optimistic about Nathan Cayless' chances of playing in the decider, but the captain was far more positive describing the injury as just a tweak."(It was) just a bit of a tweak so I thought I would get off and get it assessed so I didn't do too much damage," he was quoted as saying."The doctor and physio just kept me off so I didn't damage it too much. We've got a lot of time before the grand final next week so I've just got to do everything I can to get out there."However coach Daniel Anderson said it "doesn't look good" and "we fear the worst", with teammate Nathan Hindmarsh saying he would be devastated if Cayless couldn't take his place.

  • cayless will play hayne was an accident so he will be ok keating is the worry
  • hammies are insidious and difficult to get back from - (kris inu felt 'right' for the last 2 games) i'm agreeing with coach DA on this
    • I hate hamstrings. I tore two of mine at the same time playing soccer once.

That said, it really does depend on how much damage he's done - if it's just a twinge he might be ok
  • I hope desperately that Caylo plays next week. It would be shattering for our Courageous Captain to miss one of the most important games in his career, especially because him and Hindy have been the backbone of our team for many, many years.

He just has to play! Fate should not be so cruel!
  • Chuck Cayless on the bench and play him for 2 minutes for all I fucking care. We played with 16 men last night, we can do it again. Cayless can't miss this match.
    • I agree, Even if he isnt 100% the team owe him to be in the squad even its for five minutes.

I think the boys can do it with a 16 man squad anyway...some times loyalty to blokes such as cayless are more important.

I know Caylo won't wanna disadvantage the rest of the team....but look at it this way...the team will see captain courageous even if it be on the bench and will win it for him ...he deserves this much

anyway thats the worst case scenario....lets hope he can be fit. Its sadly unlikely though as his not as young and quick to get over these types of injuries as younger blokes

Haynsey will get off with a lowgrade dangerous contact charge and doent have any carry over pts...so he will play in GF, worried for Keating though
  • I feel sick just thinking about these three guys missing the match. Im worried for caylo, but also young Keating he has played 51 games straight for the eels since debuting last year, for him to miss out would be very painfull. I think Hayne will be ok.
  • He was moving pretty freely when he came off. I have tweaked my hamstring before like that and I reckon if it is a minor tweak then the physio's have a good chance of getting him right in 7 days.

"Yep, that's a recipe for disaster.  With no brown next year we're a high chance of spoonville. Cant see Mitch waiting out  his prime to see if we come good. We need to turn it around fast or we'll be stuck in the doldrums for a few years. "
