OPULAR Parramatta recruit Carl Webb last night vowed to shed up to 8kg before Christmas in a bid to return to his devastating best for his new club.
Webb weighed in at 116kg on Monday and quickly mapped out a plan with top Eels trainer Hayden Knowles to get lean and boost his playing minutes.
The tough back-rower spent an average of 34 minutes on the park for the Cowboys last season, and was sighted for only 46 minutes in 2009.
Long-suffering Parramatta fans have made endless inquiries to Eels officials about Webb in the past week alone, and the man himself is desperate to deliver.
"Forget everyone else, I've got plenty of expectations on myself and still don't feel I've played the best footy I can," he said.

If Webb and Fui can tag-team for 80 mins - then Parra will have some genuine go forward and a terrific platform to work with
Webb, like him or loathe him, has a TONNE of football talent - let's hope he can turn his words into action
If he does.....here's my prediction - then WEBB will be a HUGE fan favorite by the end of 2011
The guy is determined to have a good season, and it's fantastic to see!
Hope he fires up.
I don't have an opinion on who should start etc... but Fui and Webb must play the 10 minutes before hlaftime and Fui needs to be there at the back end as well.
I am concerned about a lateral defence in the forwards..... Hindy is getting slower, Poore has a tendacy to get caught out as does Horo and Webb.
Combine that awesome prop rotation with the two tireless workers in Ben Smith and Hindy in the second row, and add Shackleton's impact from lock and I think you have one of the most efficient and dangerous forward packs in the NRL.
After speaking to my mate who is in the Parra camp - he said the attitude is so different to last year, they are quiet embarrassed by their 2010 showings and he said everything is so positive and focussed. He just said the vibe is sensational.
