I still don't think we have actually been successful in getting the players invested into the history of the club . Yes I know they are a different generation and it's been a while since 1986 - but what are we doing wrong here ? Keeping old boys at arms length ??? Like others have said if they can't get up for a 75th anniversary what investment do they have in the club except for a meal ticket 🤷♀️🤷♀️
And if that's their mindset BA is failing in his modern history lesson imo

We need every one of these players to watch the 1986 grand final where Price got beaten to a pulp by every Bulldogs player and still got up and got back into the line.
We had the best backline that I have every seen but it was players like Price, Edge Wynn etc that laid the platform
RCG is in the same mold and will go all day if asked to but the rest of our edge players in particular are soft at best weak at worst.
It might be time to have a think about the style of player we won't to represent the eels because lane, Matterson and Kafusi sure ain't it
A coach should be able to get his team up for an occasion like that.

Agree Bert. When I was coaching soccer which almost everyone on here cant stand i brought in the old fashioned way I was taught. The club at first didnt like what I was doing but after a year or 2 boom. The club started getting results. I coached my sons for over 15 years got titles and the whole club improved. My eldest boy even played NSW premier league and was told he was only a park player and wouldnt make it
