Captain or goal kicker

Can Parramatta afford to have their captain kicking goals this year?

Is it more important to have our leader with the 11 other players rather than leaving someone else to motivate, talk tactics, laying out standards and game plans.

I imagine Moses wants to keep the goal kicking, but with a strong 2nd option in Lomax I feel he is more important elsewhere as there isn't really a strong 2nd option leader.

Cameron Smith could kick knowing there were other leaders. perhaps junior Paulo could step up and be more vocal.

  • I reckon Lomax will be the predominant goal kicker. Great option to have 2 good goal kickers

  • Zac has a better conversion rate than Mitch

Moses would be a great backup

  • Lomax will kick and Moses will be captain.

I think Ryles will keep Paulo however. Though he has gone full pelt in making changes he may like that connection to prior days with Paulo still being respected as captain. He will be vice-captain when Moses is in Origin anyway.

  • Completely forgot we're gonna have two great kickers.

I lean towards giving Lomax the kicking.

Captaincy might still be spicy. Likely be Moses, but won't rule out Hopgood.

  • Zack I'll kickem from the right,  Moses from the left, Iongi in the middle as per training

  • Lomax has already been granted the kicking duties

  • Lomax will definitely be our goal kicker

  • If Mitch is captain it could continue his trajectory over the last few seasons. Always been a leader on the field. I think he will do well because in his eyes he is now a elite 7 despite not having the premiership ring.  Surrounding himself with great leaders in NSW and AUST camps would have been a powerful life lesson in tempering moments and managing people. From limited observations, HOPGOOD has all the attributes you want in a leader.  Tough, resilient, respectful and a high standard of performance where the best and worst days are not that far apart.  Always thoughts that Leaders emerge in groups of new players. They pick themselves.

"Exactly.
I think many within the rugby League circles can see exactly what type of man this bloke honestly was. Family above everyone and if you dared speak out about obvious biases you were sacked or demoted.
Thank fuck the blokes gone - this was…"
