Very good insights there, Paul Taylor and Pou.
I was curious about William Latu. Was he injured for an extended period? I don’t hear much about him these days, yet I believe he’s got an NRL contract in 2027, along with Funa-Latu.
Paul, I also recall Pou mentioning how highly rated Risati is. What are your thoughts on him? From the outside looking in, he seems to have a fair bit of upside as a six, perhaps more than anyone else at the club: good footy IQ, ball skills, a kicking game, goal-kicker, size, and a decent running game as well. Not many sixes offer that.
It’s always hard to know which juniors will actually make it (most don’t), but you also can’t write anyone off too early, either.
Latu was the guy EA and I were talking about early 24 ish .The injuries early are a concern best bet I think is not exposing him to early and leave him alone in cup for a year and reevaluate him.
From what I've seen, I am not looking forward to this season at all, I think it's going to be a long 2026 season. We've gotten considerably worse and we'll be fighting out for the spoon, although I don't think we'll get it, at least I hope. Hopefully the club has made some big recruitment changes because what we've seen already is not it. I hope I'm wrong and we make finals and go further.
The fact we improved as the season went on gives me hope.
Well a mate of mine works for a mob that applies and fixes gym equipment. He goes to certain COE for teams. He didn't go to Parra but outside of Kellyville in September during finals.
He said he saw the trainer and up to 10 Eels players in there already working out.
If anything I think safe to say we will be fitter to start the year, as I mentioned early last year it is important to finish strong to add confidence and belief to this squad and the coaching staff. We did that.
The spoon? Oh go away will you, seriously. If you said miss the 8 fair enough but spoon considering how we did with a worse 17 last year? Think Gold Coast or Newcastle have gotten better?
Uh-oh children under 16 aren't allowed on here.
If we going to improve from last year i hope mosses dont get pick to play for NSW and play the full year for us
