Canberra Raiders Making A Play For Corey Norman In A Player Swap Deal

Corey Norman and his tenure with Parramatta Eels has been highlighted since early in the pre-season.

There were talks of a rift with coach Brad Arthur, then it was Jarryd Hayne and just last week the story was Mitchell Moses and Norman aren't seeing eye-to-eye.

The rumour of Norman potentially leaving the club just does not go away, despite Norman himself insisting he won't be leaving anytime soon.

However, Triple M and Fox League's James Hooper has leaked some behind the scenes details of the Raiders potentially poaching Norman to the Raiders in a player swap deal.

Norman never denied it, he brushed it over with the joke about ricky leaving and not letting him know.

Id love Norman to leave, hes too inconsistent and never has matured as a person or footy player.

Hes a lot more talented than Austin but Austin at least is mentally present in games.

Austins not the answer to our problems though, would have to be a swap for Paulo.

  Hi Snake, I'm not sold on recycling Jnr. My impression is that we have not enjoyed much success in re-signing ex players. If a swap is being seriously contemplated we definitely need a reasonable FG quality impact middle forward but I really think Jnr would be another let down. TBH I think a lot of Parra fans get lost in Neverland when reminiscing about old players.
  
  I agree with your thoughts on Austin. Ole Dozy is more talented but I think Austin would give us more consistent performance as a running left half & allow Moses to focus on directing the team. Mind u, Austin's asking price of $700k+ is totally unrealistic so I would be surprised to see him in the B&G unless we paid overs which I hope we refrain from doing.

    I think junior might be a letdown too Mick but we need at least 2 big boppers imo who can break the line and gain momentum, they are hard to find, we might have to end up taking somebody like junior.
