I think they will probably say that it would have been a penalty if the try was disallowed. I thought it should have been a penalty regardless - 8 point try. It seems these days trys are the same as a penalty. Where in the rule book does it say that?
I think there is a fine line between a foul in the act of scoring a try and a foul prior to the act of scoring a try. If it happens while scoring, penalty kick after conversion for possible 8pt try, but if it's before, the ref is well within his right to play advantage so a team can score a try.
Fairly sure they did and the referee put it on report. "is there somewhere to look it up"
Gus Gould was blowing up suggestig there is no other way to make that tackle without getting hurt or let a try in, like Tedesco got hurt and a couple have been steamrolled and bounced off, My suggestion Gus - that the fullback in question shouldnt play the game or he should just let Sivo go by then.
Stupid suggestion by Gould to suggest that no one can tackle Sivo legaly comming across from the middle to stop a try, so they should be able to shoulder charge. If they cant stop him then so be it - credit to Sivo for working so hard to get big and athletic.
Because Sivo shoulder charge was bigger. Defence can't use shoulder yourself for your own protection but it's not an offence if your carrying the ball.

So why wasn't it a penalty try?
The bunker didn't even adjucate on the shoulder charge even though the ref asked them to look at it.

Wests Tigers fullback Adam Doueih was placed on report for a shoulder charge on Maika Sivo.
Doueih found himself in an awkward position when Sivo charged in the corner for a try.
Referee Gerard Sutton placed Doueih on report for what he deemed was leading into the tackle with a shoulder.

Exactly, it's not an offence if you are carrying the ball. So whether you agree with that or not, there is no point talking about it.
LOL, and after all this no one seems to have noticed Packer was put on report TWICE for Crusher tackles.
I dony know. But on the same subjecy I remember 2 players on the same indoor cricket team were sent of for fighting with each other in the arena.
