Can you be both a BA lover and Crabman hater?

Just thought I'd throw this question out there. There is much love for BA on this site and rightly so. He is straight shooting coach that's turning around the culture at the Eels.However, the Crabman cops a lot of flak on this site. Again there is validity to the criticism as his sideways options frequently seem to stifle the Eels attack.Now the conundrum. It is BA who selects crabman and it would have been BA who wanted him re-signed.So how does that leave the Crabman critics feeling about BA?For mine, Paulo playing a more direct role can be a dangerous attacking weapon. He has demonstrated this ability. I have hopes of BA playing him differently this year. If not, I'll be checking where BA goes on a Sunday.

Btw, I'd love to see some "Crabman" banners at the games next year. He could be a new cult figure. No more Fuiiiiii! It's now Crabeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Good one 60sboy. BA obviously sees potential &/or value in both Crappy Joe & Dud Kelly. I hope he is right in his assessment come 2015. I'm afraid I'm one of those who thought both of them shouldn't have been re-signed but also hope that BA is on the money. If they perform then thats all anyone can ask of them but if they don't then it obviously conflicts with fan's confidence in BA's current achievements.

IF BA puts the Crab in the 6 jersey it would FORCE him to play direct more often.

Plus be an improvement on our current 6.

To be honest in 2014 I thought Joseph Paulo ran a lot straighter than previous years

To me BA resigning Paulo signals that he does in fact play favourites.
Yes BA would know the players better than the fans but can ALL the fans be wrong? I don't think so.
No matter how you dress it, crap is still crap and unfortunately we need to put up with it for a while longer.

  Arthur does know more than us. After all he is an nrl coach and we aren't. If any of us were smarter than BA when it comes to footy we'd be in his position.
