Can we start dreaming yet?

7/8 Wins! That’s a feeling eels fans haven’t had for a while!

Every win we still get written of. They missed this player, not a top 4 side etc etc.

We have struggled against the top form teams and we have had a very favourable draw. But wins are wins. It builds confidence and comradely. We’ve also been playing without some of our top players for long stints of the season.

Out depth for fullback and halves is our biggest worry but.....

If Moses and Gutho stay fit, Paulo and Fergo come back a few games before the finals and we continue to  build, it’s a long shot against the likes of Storm and Sydney but I’m starting to dream loll

  • Gutho and Moses are the only two players to have played all games this season. Gutho was rested late in the game last night too. I’m sure they’ll be okay and BA obviously recognises that he needs to manage them well.

Mahoney has dropped in form considerably since early in the season. He needs to get back to top form to have any chance comes finals time.

    • What’s doing with sentences being all over the place. This new platform stinks!

      • You clicked the right justification button. I take it you've never used a word processor or any other digital writing tool, then? I've edited your post with normal justification, and wow, what do you know sentences look normal again!

  • Like 2 years ago - if we were to sneak to 4th I believe we can beat Melb down there... I don’t think we have any chance against the roosters anywhere though - they are a far superior side.

  • Yes we can. You need 2 rampaging props to go anywhere in the competition. Now that Evans has stepped up we have the ammunition right across the park, including the biggest backline in the comp who are as fast as any team on average. Parramatta Vs Manly Grand Final. There will be home semi's against teams that have few fans. Semi finals at Bankwest and Lottoland then major semis at ANZ will sort out Melbourne and Easts. There will be 70,000 Parra fans at ANZ against 10,000 Melbourne or Easts fans who will force the refs to be fair. The NRL will not want 70,000 fans chanting "bullshit" the entire game. Ferguson will be fresh. Paulo, Gutho etc are being managed to keep them fresh for the semis. I smell a street parade coming up.

"The sad part is these two are the only half decent players returning... Iongi and Tuivati back round 13. Says a lot about our roster. Seriously in need of a quality 5/8, centres (x2) and a middle. "

"Already have some young players in there. Other than Kelly, Ado-Carr  Paulo, Debelin and Walker, most of the other players are pretty young. Saxon Prike finds himself playing NRL well before he expected to. Throwing them all in together is asking…"
