Can The Aussies Do It?

It's backs to the wall, fight your way out for the Aussie Cricket Team. I know this is a league website but I'm interested to know what those following the cricket think will happen over the next 2 days. For the Aussies to pull off a win it will require a marathon stay at the crease, concentration and some of the finest batting the game will ever seen. If they do win this match they will not just break the record for the highest successful run chase, they will smash it. The highest successful run chase currently is 418 by the West Indies against Australia in 2003. Everything is on the line here. South Africa are the current world number 1 Test team with Australia second. If Australia win this match and the series they reclaim the number 1 Test ranking.

The legendary Ricky Ponting is also playing in his last Test Match. The question that remains will be whether or not he can leave with a good score to his name. He's struggled for Test form lately but he's still Ricky Ponting, a man who, at his best can butcher an attack all over the park. Admittedly his best days are behind him but he's still got some runs left in him. Interesting days ahead.

  • LOL, Super, ive warned you to get off the drugs but it looks like you havnt listened, aussies will struggle to get over 350, might even get out for 200, Ricky will struggle to get over 10 but in the best case wont get over 50, we are done n dusted super.....

    • Super, what happened to this blog, looks like the old dogs of the site were on the money here and you were living in unicorn land again :)

  • South Africa will win easy you would think.

Ponting should of retired years ago he has lost it age has caught up to him.

  • RSA made their 500 total with only 2 century makers in Amla and De Villiers. We scored over 600 against the Indians in Sydney this year, albeit with Clarke scoring 329*. Still 2 days to go and plenty of time. A run rate of 3.15 will see us win. While there's only a small chance, there's still a chance. The journey of 632 runs begins with a single run. When it gets tough you don't give up, you keep fighting.

  • super your the same guy that protested that lance was clean and never on the dope when there was a mountain of eveidence as big as mt everest, your on drugs...

  • Warner to score 145 Bowled and Aus will be 400/3 Cowan to struggle,  Punter 75  Watson 80 ish Clarke 100+

    • Well, that was an optimistic prediction. Cowan scored the most out of all of them and Starc top scored. Note to Aussie selectors, don't rest your best bowlers for a grand final.

  • Yes, it's a team of reliable Aussies no blokes that will go missing under pressure. LOL
  • Australia Blew there chance yesterday poor batting and bowling letting RSA score at 6 an over. Also RSA don't have a pop gun attack. If you think they can win well put money on it think you get $15 for the win.

RSA have been poor by there standards in the first two tests however did not get beat.
Lesson for the Aussie selectors don't rest your bowlers for so called grand final.
  • :)  :)  :)
