Yeah looks on the cards. Often teams with no luck early on drop their heads. Obviously we will lose next week and obviously we are going to miss the finals. But I'm not so sure about the spoon. I think it'll be whether we get destroyed by the roosters. I'm thinking we lose to Penrith 12 or so points in a actually relatively good game and then get beat by 50 the following week. Spoon

Aye I would say from what I have seen that Wests and Newcastle both look like candidates early on. New Zealand as well could finish down towards the bottom and then with St. George, it was only one game, the win against the Gold Coast could be a flash in the pan.
Only major injuries would see us get the spoon. There are other teams who will battle it out for the bottom spot. Season is far too young. Will we make the top eight, however? Will need to win 3-4 games in a row at least twice during the season now, with 50-50 matches making up the others.
I think if something were to happen to Gutherson that would be very damaging. We saw what happened in the brief time he were off against Cronulla-Sutherland.

We were in all 3 games until the final minutes against top 8 sides. Wooden spoon sides don't do that.
Tonight RCG should have scored and equalised game but a bullshit decision which also cost me a massive same game multi.RCG is good value in tryscorer each week.
The other week a penalty not awarded to us and ruled as an error by refs boss may have cost us the game.
2 decisions cost victory despite eels never deserving to even be in either contest shows with little bit of luck and fixing a few errors we are capable of beating top 8 sides and making top 8.
