Cameron King BA's choice?

STANDING BY THE SQUADJune 21, 2017 6:00amNathan Ryan@nath_ryanSource: FOX SPORTSParramatta coach Brad Arthur has ruled out going to market for a hooker to replace Kaysa Pritchard this season.Pritchard suffered a devastating knee injury which has ended his year and left the club’s stocks low, as Isaac De Gois is sidelined indefinitely due to the ongoing effects of concussion. The Eels have recently been linked with Penrith No.9 Mitch Rein and Canberra bench rake Adam Clydesdale but despite speculation the Eels will hit the market before the June 30 transfer deadline, Arthur said they’d finish the year with what they’ve got in their system.“We’re going to give Cameron King a go,” Arthur told Market Watch.“He’s been with us for 18 months and deserves a chance. It may not be next week but more than likely.”

  • King is going to kill it. Has some good attacking skills. Good luck to him.
    • Why has he been stuck behind KP and Will Smith? Is it a defensive issue?

    • Kays had the runs on the board. Will Smith can play many positions from the bench
    • Auva'a still out due to inj
    • Told you chief always on the money ;)
  • A lot of people here want to see Cameron King have a go, im interested to see how he goes.

  • Our hooker doesnt have to do much... Lead the defense and pass to either Moses or Norman...

  • I'm actually surprised BA has waited this long to give him a crack. I believe they should keep Will Smith on the bench and he can interchange with King as well as cover for any injuries, which the squad seem susceptible to this year

  • Can King kick?
    • Yep

"I feel like trials are more a sign of how bright your future will be, it's a lot of your younger and depth options getting a chance to showcase their game. Eels 2027 and onwards looks very bright "

"Yeah it's a pretty swift recovery usually 2-3 weeks. But so early in the season I'm not sure Parra will push him that hard. Even with ado we prob lose to brissy "

Hell On Eels replied to Hell On Eels's discussion Who Said Trials Mean Nothing?
"Wise words, LB. Can't disagree. Trials often lie, but they can also reveal. I'm happy with how 1-28 played, especially the kids. There appears buy in, fitness and cohesion. Hopefully, that isn't an illusion."
