cameron king

I know his performance has been praised in comments in other blogs, but i can't go by the contribution he made last night to getting that win. A lot of fans of this site doubted his ability and stated he was not first grade standard. Well i hope your eating your word now because this bloke has been punching well above his pay and IMO is a quality first grade hooker.

Last night the amount of times he earned us penalties by picking out the markers was terrific and it just shows behind a forward pack who is winning the battle, how effective he could be. Not to mention his excellent kicking game and his solid defence helped tidy up the middle and get some good go forward.

Not sure about the opinion of others but I've got him penciled in for #9 2018.

  • just as good as Peats for a 10th of the price.
    • Nah not really Mac.

Has Peats ever kicked us a 40/20? Has he ever kicked one in his entire game?
Peats barely runs from the dummy half stealing metres and getting us a penalty.

King is forming a good combo with Moses on the short side
  • King has been magnificent and i reckon he's a better player than Nathan Peats.
Its like we recruited a 7 and 9 mid year which are the most key positions in a side.
Both he and Moses have been superb!
    • I agree he is better than peats
  • King has been better then Pritchard, and he has a great kicking game and is very quick

Avau'a was great last night too I thought, Hoffman is going to find it hard getting back into the team.
    • Auva'a was good, but a couple of times he was out of position. Just something to work on. BA will have some decisions to make if everyone is fit.

    • Credit to BA??
FFS we've been calling for King to be given a shot for ages.
    • It's pretty easy to be the 2nd or 3rd person in, in each tackle.

He rarely makes the initial contact or leads the line speed like Peats / IDG / Pritchard do!!
  • He brings a completely different dimension to the Eels game, we aren't nearly as predictable anymore
  • I love how he can take pressure off our havles with kicks and he takes the defence on, especially when the markers arent square.

"TLDR
Smith is our long term starter, if TDS wants to stick around and come off the bench, then good, he'll grow into it.
Smith's tenacity in chasing down kickers is second to none."

Could be wrong."
