Calling all the Ryan Morgan Haters

I am constantly noticing on the website that there are calls to dump Ryan Morgan.

These calls are rarely backed up with any solid reasoning with a great example being a blog posted this afternoon that simply said "GET RID OF MORGAN PLEASE" by Eel for Life.

IMO Ryan Morgan is a very good defensive centre. Every game i see him make very strong and important tackles. I think that his attacking game and passing game could improve and think that iit will improve if we can get a settled three quarter line with the same players forming combinations.

So to all of the Ryan Morgan haters i have just 2 simple questions.

1.  What exactly is the big problem with him?

2.  Who from our current roster is better than him? (please don't say John Folau as he is clearly not ready for week in week out NRL).

  • Ryan Morgan is good on the wing for his speed, but otherwise he is not an NRL standard centre,

  • You know what Ryan does very well, is he does an excellent job of making a tackle when you think he's been beaten. In many ways that makes him ideal to sit outside Sandow because he has made a decent habit of picking up a bloke that Sandow's not bothered tackling and who should have just gone through. He's definitely improved his up and in defence but I'd still like to see him get a bit better at locking up the ball.

He's definitely not an electric centre and requires his inside men to make space for him and can't pass, but he is quick and an excellent finisher. Hence why he's doing a fine job on the wing. I think BA has got his role absolutely right at the moment and I think he's doing a good job for us. I wouldn't exclude the possibility that he stays with us, actually, assuming Hoppa does sign. He'd probably sign a reasonable contract as I think it's probably established he's not quite starting centre quality and those two work well together. I don't see many upgrades on offer in the market, so it will come down to dollars I expect.

    • On his current money, he is overvalued. If he stays it will be on significantly less money. He has an obvious issue with his passing game. It all relates to the position of his hands which would send the pass on too much of a downward trajectory. They have worked quite a bit on this. If we examine Parramatta's recruitment strategy, he would not fit into the top 10 but may fit into one of their "journeymen" positions.
    • Morgan/Hopoate is a very good right side combination. Morgan's defence at centre allows Hopoate to defend on the wing, and he is fast enough to attack outside Hopoate, making use of his passing game.

    • Like mercy Ray? Holly shit!
  • i love the Possum and Chrissie
Can't see why people hate them.
Morgan is solid. Chrissy tries his guts out.
People just need to blame someone. Ecspecially when Joesph Paulo has been dropped.
I try to love everyone who wears the blue and gold, but Joseph Paulo, geeeez!!!
  • Do you have any stats to back that up or is it what you imagine based on you bias?
Is it him who always misses his man or is it sometimes the guy inside or outside of him?
  • We need Ryan Morgan as an accessory until we become a regular top 8 team. Until then we must keep Morgan.

In saying that, we will never become a top 8 team whilst Ryan Morgan is at the club!
    • We paid more money for a forward who makes five times the mistakes of Morgan and his face looks more unnatural too lol
  • It's dangerous to say anything positive about unpopular players and coaches, Ken.
