Buzz on Parramatta and BA

Well Buzz is in full flight in his attempt to detrown BA. He expects the board and Jim Sarantinos to meet at some point this week to discuss the team and BA, followed by the belief that a loss v Souths could spell the final nail in the coffin for the 11 year coach. While a win v Souths could mask the issues at the club as everything is starting to get back on track.

It is a fascinating game this week, Souths have already moved on from JD and Hornby is 0-3. However, you could argue their game v NQ they looked alright. Granted it was against not great defensive team but Souths tried hard for most of the game and had every chance of winning. Where is if they played us yesterday they would have won, i am sure of that. It would be close but i still think they beat us.

  • Of all the journos, I doubt there would be a leak to Buzz.

Ultimately the decision to sack BA shouldn't be made based on a specific game. The decision should come following a considered analysis of the past couple of seasons, the options available and what the plan is going into the future. I think BA should go, but I doubt the match against Souths becomes a deciding factor.

    • Honestly SE, i feel we will just let him see out the year anyway but us losing to Souths should definately be it. Will it be though? Doubt it knowing our board and how they operate.

  • It's not just the losses, it's how we are losing. Shows me we are a poorly coached team. Don't care if the players support BA, those players can leave for all I care.

On paper we have a decent team that shouldn't fold the way we do.

    • Agree - there are bigger issues in my opinion.

Not sure if BA has the support staff like other teams. You look at the Sharks coaching box, you've got Fitzgibbon, Steve Price and Josh Hannay.

      We have Barrett.

      • He chooses that. he has lots fo support staff and assistants. He has Barrett and one other coach in the box with him (cant think of his name).

  • the only thing whisky cheeks could dethrone would be a bottle of scotch......to think this bum has any influence over the dopes at parra is beyond laughable.  How he still has a media job is a testimate to functional alcoholism or maybe the bar is way way low for a league writer you couldnt call most of these guys journalists could you......least the agitation has started.

    • Whatever little influence he has, it's 100% more than you do. Here's hoping BA and the coaching staff gets the punt, followed by the spineless CEO and board

  • Can you blame him? Feel good stories don't get too many clicks. This is his job, and it's hardly a secret that Eel's are going shit and BA is under pressure.

If you make the decision BA is not here next year, then it has to be done sooner rather than later. When the Sharks moved John Morris on, they had Fitzgibbon already preparing for the following season when he was with the Chooks. I think they already signed Nicho Hynes not long after appointing Fitzgibbon.

If we want to be active in the player market for next year, new coach needs to be appointed ASAP. I guess with WB putting pen to paper today, that counts him out. Ryles must be getting itchy feet with Bellamy going around AGAIN.

  • Usually I can't stand buzz, he is a complete dribbler with very little he says makes any sense. However Parramatta have fucked up completely not going hard after WB and now it's too late.

  • BA should have been expelled as head coach a number of years ago in my opinion. Ten yrs is way too long for any coach at 1 club unless they've won a few premierships and are always competitive like Bellamy and the Storm. BA has shown nothing during his tenure to warrant more than 5 yrs maximum. A game against Souths win or lose should have no outcome on the fact which everyone knows is that this should be his final year.
