Burt might be out vs Tigers

''I got a bit of treatment at half-time, and had it strapped up, and that got me through. I've done something to the medial (ligament), but it's apparently only a minor strain. The doctor said it should be OK in a few days. I think I'll be OK for next week. If it does put me out, it'll only be for one game.''

The Eels have a short turnaround this week. They will back up against Wests Tigers at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday night. Earlier in the week, Parramatta confirmed 28-year-old Burt, who made his first-grade debut for the club at just 17 and is in his 12th season at the top level, had extended his contract until the end of 2012. His 200th game on top of that brought a lot of emotion to the surface, and he had to try to push that to one side once the whistle blew for kick-off.

  • Is this a Tigers home game and why are they playing there?

Should be a good crowd at the SFS.
  • It is a home game. They play 4 at leichy(for Balmain) 4 at Campbelltown(for wests,4 at SFS ,i guess a neutral venue for both old supporters and for the 'bigger' crowds... and the bunnies game at the SCG
    • INU isn't a bad replacement at all and I'm guessing he will take over the goal kickin duties.

When do we no if poore will play????
  • Tigers concern will be the Eels second phase play. They don't have the defence to counter Mateo, Fui and co. Offload, offload and offload Parra. :)
  • According to nrl.com stats. We only managed 12 offloads yesterday, none of which were by mateo ! how is that even possible ?
    • Hey, I was asking many questions at halftime. With so much strike power why was Parra's score 0?
      • Yeah we really didn't look like scoring at all. The only time we came close was with fui's double movement.
      • Because no one was running off Mateo's hip thats why!! He was looking for the offload just about every time he touched the ball.. but no one was there to take it!
        • That is what either K. Keating or J. Hayne's job has to be. It is in this exact way that we can score HEAPS of points. Mateo would burst through the line, offload and send hayne or keating 1 on 1 with fullback with support coming!
  • give burt a rest we need him fit all year , inu can cover burt for a game , i would also drop poore if he has a bad tigers game !
