  This may be totally irrelevant.... but why doesn't the NRL introduce some sort of system like the English Premier league where players are traded and the club that loses them is compensated. For example, why should the Eels spend all that money developing junior talent only for other clubs to steal them? OK, you take Mateo for $250,000 say, but the Eels are paid $100,000 transfer fee to compensate for all the work they put into developing him.
  
  I also think they should scrap the salary cap altogether but of the 17 first-graders that run out each week six of them HAVE to be club juniors.

    there is only a transfer fee in soccer if the player leaves the club before his contract expires. however,if they leave when they are out of contract, there is no transfer fee.

  Ossie is a smart man just look what he did in such a short time at the club and what he is continuing to do. I have all the confindence in the world that Ossie will do everything in his power to keep our stars, not only now but also in the future.
