Dissapointed obviously, feel the players let BA down more than BA let the players down.

Gutho, Junz, Brown & Brown are irreplaceable and should never leave the club give them everything we got.

Every other player is replaceable.

We need a ruthless coach, think Ferguson of Manchester, BA I think should get another go next season but it should be known this is his last season and he needs to make tough calls.

The thing this year that pisses me off tactically is BA put too much faith in underperofming players which showed when our backline was decimated, BA would of known Fergo and Sivo were struggling why not give them a month off and bring in new blood who cares we lose a few games look at the raiders they finished well behind us and look who's still standing!

Would love too see some players next year from our Juniors get the chance.

  • Gutho and NBrown both set the effort bar for the team, and Mahoney also seems to show a fair bit of that passion too. Great core to build a team around.

Then you have Junior and RCG who have talent and size in spades. We definitely want them sticking around.

What we're missing in our core group is a smart level head. The grace under pressure guy. Who settles the team when they're hyped up. The Cam Smith type player.

DBrown could be that person if he matures to the role. MJennings helped in that regard but that's done and dusted now. I do think this is one of our final missing pieces though.

    • And I have come to the conclusion that person is unlikely to ever be Moses. He showed last year that he would be capable of the transition. However, I think those natural leaders and athletes who thrive under pressure are born with that instinct, I'm not convinced it can be manufactured...I don't think Moses has it.

      • I agree. I was always hopefully Moses would develop into that leader, but I don't think he has the behavioural characteristics - you'd usually see them by his age.

Gutho has that leadership ability, but I'm not sure if he can un-hype himself during games. He's a hype/effort player, not a strategist.

I don't think we have the player yet. Maybe DBrown or Mahoney calm with age and become that person...

  • I think D Brown needs to be the 7 and Moses the 6, it would suit both players better. Brown has a more relaxed (calm) approach which is better suited to guiding the team around.  Moses plays up tempo and is instinctive, he is better suited to playing off the back of a solid foundation set by others. They could match what Cleary and Lui  do at the panthers.

    • I agree. I think that may be the eventual plan. Dylan is only in his 2nd year of 1st grade, so this will come in time. Bit much to give him the keys to the team just yet, and I'm not sure Mitchell's ego could take it anyway right now.

I think Joey's coaching has been detrimental to both this year. As Cronk says, you play to your strengths when things aren't working. Moses is taking on the line and playing direct, but has gone away from that. Dylan had a wonderful passing game but now seems to go himself and try and break the line. They played the complete opposite of their natural games this year and I can only blame the coaching staff for that.

    • This is absolutely what needs to happen, but it's going to need Moses to reinvent himself and accept his place in the team, and I'm not sure he's mature enough to do that.

Moses would be a far superior 6 and Brown is made to be a 7. But we can't go back to a Norman/Moses situation where both fight for control of the team.

I can't see it happening, but I agree it should.

  • BA needs to find a mind coach. There is no doubting the quality of this side as when they turn it on they produce magic but they seem to almost get confused at certain times of the game and no one is on the same page. The errors must break their hearts as it dose mine everytime another one happens. Worst is that the most of the errors are unforced so it shows a definate attitude issue.

We have a few players that will really need to have a big off season because they dropped off in form big time this season.

Name and salary must mean nothing next season.

    • Just putting it out there with 11 plus players off the books next season parra should look at quality front rower, centre , halve. & hooker

ehy not trial Moses at FB (as he has speed & kicking game) Gutho at 6 (a cool head ) & D Brown at halfback ( can be the missing link)

    l

    • That suggested combo is creative... and I like it. I query whether Moses has the fitness/engine for fullback and I query whether Brown is ready to be the onfield general though. Finally, I'm not convinced Moses' ego would all him to be shifted from 7.

    • I love Gutho, but he is not a cool head. He plays off the cuff and is very prone to pushing a play that isn't on. I wouldn't disrupt him at FB.
