You don’t go in for back surgery 4 days after you play a game. That kind of invasive procedure is a last resort after all other options have been exhausted.
I agree, he would need to be in a very bad way to require surgery at this point of time in his career as his body is still developing and can mend itself in not that long a time.
I have had 2 bouts of back surgery, the last having plates put in, also in my neck, surgeons these days will only operate when all else fails, and I doubt any would operate on an 18 year olds back unless he could not walk, if that happens, then unlikely to play again.
He was moving very freely Friday night against the Roosters, that was not a guy who was going to have back surgery 4 days later, not unless he's been in a car accident we haven't heard about.
