Brown and gutho need to be our captains

Since Scott is out these two are our best players and they lead by example. I dunno what this would do to our leader group but these two would be the only two players that could influence the ref. Gutho has the respect of NSW greats in fittler, joey and Gould.. When the going gets tough these two will up the anti and keep our team in check. Nelson needs to be our hooker. He's a big strong body that makes 40 plus tackles and lead the defensive line like Scott and IDG use too.

  • Brown and gutho at years end need pay rises. There parra's future and their knocking on origin selection.
  • I reckon they would make great captains but not sure if they're ready just yet.
  • agree

  • No Corey Norman should be the captain
  • Corey Norman, seems to thrive when given a leading role, a big part of why he has been shying away is he has another half with him now, give him the captaincy and he will thrive. He also has the drive and is a Queenslander, Queenslanders love getting in the refs ears. I am just worried that Guth and Brown will focus more on being captains than the game (Hayne??).

Also, with Norman, will he get too fired up and cost us too many penalties?
  • I couldn't agree more
It seems that the more responsibility that is put on there shoulders the better they get
They both play with pride and passion for the club
And when it gets tough they both take it up a notch
And they are very consistent with all those things
Also considering the ages of the two they would be great long term options
  • You make some fair points pop, I just believe Normy under pressure performs well, Guth does step up and seems to be always firing the boys up. I think we have a few candidates for that role.

As long as it ain't Mannah, I will be happy.
  • No
  • Parramate im with you here on Gutho, i think he might make a decent captain one day.

Brown might too but im not sure its what he needs atm, id hate to see the responsibility of it curb the way he plays and hes still a bit raw for captain, might make a good one down the track though

  • Prob right Ed Brown not needing it right now but he is def the man in our squad that shows the way. Straight and hard, no bullsh**.. We could do worse.

"Wise words, LB. Can't disagree. Trials often lie, but they can also reveal. I'm happy with how 1-28 played, especially the kids. There appears buy in, fitness and cohesion. Hopefully, that isn't an illusion."
