Broncos say hands off Corey

Brisbane Broncos have kicked-off negotiations to retain boom playmaker Corey Norman in theThe revelation comes as the Broncos angrily denied fresh speculation the club is putting together a big-money package to poach Johnathan Thurston from the Cowboys.Having missed out on Cowboys front-row enforcers James Tamou and Matt Scott in the past three months, the Eels are cashed-up and coach Ricky Stuart is continuing to scour the player market. Now Norman, Brisbane's most exciting young playmaker who is off-contract at season's end, is on the Eels' radar. But on Sunday the Broncos issued a hands-off edict to Stuart with the club entering talks with Norman's management to secure the Queensland Origin hopeful until the end of 2016.Brisbane recruitment chief Andrew Gee confirmed the Broncos face competition to retain Norman, with the Dragons also believed to be interested following the retirement of skipper and halfback Ben Hornby."We're in talks with his manager now, there's no big rush, but hopefully we can sort something out soon," Gee said."Corey is happy here and we have a huge opinion of him, so we're pretty confident we can hold on to him."Norman's manager Paul Sutton revealed on Sunday night he had yet to receive formal offers from NRL suitors but said there is genuine interest in the classy utility."At the moment, he's focused on football. He's coming off groin surgery so he is keen for a big year," Sutton said. While Stuart has a high regard for under-pressure halfback Chris Sandow, the former NSW Origin coach believes Norman would reinvigorate the embattled Eels.Gee, meanwhile, hosed down a fresh report that the club is still interested in Thurston. The Broncos had one meeting with Thurston's manager Sam Ayoub at the end of last season but Gee insists the club is out of the race - regardless of whether Norman joins the Eels."I don't know how many times I have to say it, we won't be making an offer to Thurston," Gee

"There should only be 2 nominees - Thornett and Hayne.
Both great in their own way but The Mayor was easily the better fullback.
Hayne could earn a spot as utility off the bench due to him being fantastic in other positions.
