Smithie has all of the attributes needed to do a job with retention, recruitment, and what a contract is worth etc. Not the agents or players, just down to earth negotiations, if he has the desire to be involved with the Club. If he wanted to do all three jobs then I am sure he would make a fist of that as well because these three idiots do not perform. Get out to the Country Rugby League meetings and establish a network and don't forget Rugby Union where we had success with Dick Thornett and Ray Price etc. It is all out there if you have the fortitude to do it.

Alan, great intentions. Most or many here on 1EE also want Brian Smith back at our club in some decision-making capacity, immediately.
Even Gus suggested that. It would be a good decision imo. Perhaps in some player development and pathways role. He's experienced, passionate, and competent - pending any health or other issues we may not be aware of.
At least the heirachy are aware many fans want Smith. It's in their hands.
They won't hire smith he's not a yes man for the dopes on the board
I intially thought B Smith great idea for GM. However I think his time has come and gone...What is he now 70. Been out of the game 12 years....I can see Sheens writen all over his return.
We need a Mcdermott or a checka or a Venture Captalist to buy the club and do an Uncle Nick or Big Russell C. Tbh I dont know its a hot mess left to a very very unprepared coach I can see Kearney 2.0 100%
Phil Gould is the person behind the current Panthers golden patch and bulldogs and he is 66.
The Pathers Group is very strong and goes alot further then Rugby League, Can offer lots like the Privately owened clubs,
I have wondered all along how we haven't approached Gus. He has said time and time again how he is perplexed by our club and I think it would be a major challenge for him turning the club around to a premiership - he is a Westie
when does his contract end at dogs I wonder 🤔
This would be the last place he would come. He hates us with a passion
I'm not sure
I think he is continually frustrated by our inability to perform tbh from afar ....
gus has a very healthy ego being a messiah figure anywhere could be attractive
I actually have rarely heard " absolute hate " for Parra over my years of listening to him tbh 🤷♀️
Yes, you a right Coryn, if he had still been operating in his field then 70 is no problem, coming back in after being in the cold would be very different to him after 14 years.
That said we understand he was interviewed by the board for whatever role i dont know, but they are relatively up to date with his abilities. An ex player with media experience would also be handy from a public relations and spokes person for the club would also be handy.
All this current shit going on will be to much for our CEO and or Chairman to handle if it gets any hotter.
Try and get Cameron Smith in a Football GM role
That's a left of centre choice
I think I'd throw up but 🤔🤷♀️🤷♀️if it works
