Brian Smith

I apologise if this viewpoint is somewhat ridiculous as I started following the eels after Brian Smiths tenure but judging by his multiple grand final appearances it seems like he should surely be considered to be at least an assistant or possibly the next Head Coach at parramatta. Similarly Jason Taylor was close to getting the job in 2013, why not now. Both are in relatively minor roles at the moment and I would assume they would definitely take the Head Coaching position if offered to them.

  • I would love for him to be considered for a football role off the field. Not a coaching role but behind the scenes absolutely

  • Would be a great hire to build the pathways. The juniors were absolutely flying when he was here. Not sure he even wants to work in footy any more but you'd be giving him a call if you were Parra for sure.

    As for coaching... no.

  • Its weird to think in about 10-15 years when we are still struggling and our coach (whoever it is at that point) is getting sacked there will be a post suggesting we consider Brad Arthur.

    • Well if he is available that means he failed in his 2nd post.

  • Great quinella! It surprises me that we haven't seen JT mentioned on any journos  lists or here either tbh. Don't understand why not.

ive also wondered if Brian Smith could clear our junior pathways up at very least also. Surely there'd be somewhere for him if he is interested ?

"Then again, how often do you see coaches change a winning team? In any form of the game? Very rarely does a coach make an unforced change to a team, if they do it is one change."

"Spot on Pops, Munster has had 16 and 15 runs in the two games.
His individual stats read quite well but he stifles the attack , often the ball dies with him.
You can't have 4 points of attack it becomes disjointed, 3 works well.
