Ultimately we don't know what the board is doing & any coach is a risk. But, they'll shock me if they have the balls of the Dolphins who lined up a head coach with demonstrated competence in Woolfe. They'll probably go for the next "young, hot thing" in Ryles or Hannay.
Optically, it looks modern & progressive with plenty of feel-good, gushing themes added: We give young guys a go. We're cool and on the cutting edge. We look to the future. It'll look great for the COE photos. The media and plenty of Eels fans will love it.
Brian is the guy surely, we are going to look silly if we hire Ryles and the next team, say cowboys, then go hire McDermott and we fail and he takes them on to bigger and better things. I know it is all hypotheticals but I really think Brian is the guy to move us forward
I've read enough on all the candidates and other suggested potentials , but can anyone on here really tell me the hype around josh hannay why he should be on any or if some sort of short list for parra's head coach .
Yes they were in the super league, but his coaching accomplishments would add an instant authority to everything he would say. The players would know that he knows how to get the job done and I think it'd mean a great level of stability right from training session 1 and itd be a huge confidence booster for both youngsters and our old heads. Also added benefit of potentially being a magnet for some top young talent from the UK to the Eels and try their hand in the NRL.
"There is plenty of middles and backrowers in the juniors. Really hope one of them really kick on and become elite because they definitely have the potential. Confident that will happen. Problem is by the time they become elite will Moses still be…"
"Fans like to draw there own conclusions what BA was and wasn't nevermind how he really thinks or has said it will always be portrayed there way.
Me I just think because for the most part Parra have been taking up the ring for the last forty odd…"

The only Eels fans that will love it are the gullible ones who thought BA was their messiah.
We will probably hire an ex NRLW player.

est_88 I'd be shocked if McDermott isn't highly thought of as next Newcastle coach .

Brian McDermott is the coach I am most confident will be able to turn us into contenders in the shortest time.
Get him!
The other guys may do something but I think it'd be a project type scenario. 5 year plan thing.
