Brett Kenny to coach Wentworthville

Eels legend Brett Kenny will coach Wentworthville's NSW Cup feeder club next year, replacing Rip Taylor. “Brett is a quality addition to our coaching ranks and we think that under his leadership Wentworthville will continue to prosper in the NSW Cup,” Pirtek Parramatta Eels Chief Executive Paul Osborne said in a media statement. “In just two NSW Cup seasons our partnership with the Wentworthville Club has gone from strength to strength and we feel that Brett’s appointment will only make it stronger again.” In Kenny's last season of coaching in 2006, he led Penrith's SG Ball side to a premiership. The Eels also officially confirmed Peter Sharp's appointment as assistant coach. "Peter is enormously experienced both in Australia and overseas and his skills will add a great deal to the Club,” Osborne said. “He’s been in the office now for the past few weeks working with Daniel Anderson and Matt Cameron, planning for the season ahead. “He also has a number of established relationships, having worked with some of our players in the past, which will certainly be a bonus when the on-field preparation for 2010 begins.”
