Brett Kenny calls for Eels board cleanout

Parramatta legend Brett Kenny says the Kieran Foran saga has damaged the club's ability to attract star players as the Eels board hit out at what it claimed were attempts to destabilise it.

Kenny, a four-time premiership winner who played 265 premiership matches in the blue and gold, said he no longer wanted to have anything to do with his beloved former club and could only laugh from afar as he watched it "go down the drain".

He criticised the Eels board and administration for attempting to change Foran's deal, predicting it had damaged its future recruitment plans and chances of landing star signings.

"What would you do if you were a player? You wouldn't want to go there," Kenny said.

"You'd be frightened that when you agree to a contract that they are going to turn around at some stage - whether it be change of board or something like that - and look at it and say `this is a ridiculous contract, change it and give him this one'.

"I wouldn't want to go through that."

  • Brett Kenny is a fool, i heard him advising Foran not to come to parra the other day, not to mention you need an interpreter to understand the mumbling dope.

    • I think it's time I change my avatar and name.

    • @Fong don't forget Stan Jurd is joining them!
  • Why are people so unkind ?? ( esp old former players who didn't get a media career - or any career afterwards ) . There is no pride in running down your former club .....
    • Agreed mate, I loved Brett as a player, still my all time favourite.

I personally witnessed Brett down a dozen schooners only hours before having to commentate for Fox.

He had his opportunity for a media career and blew it.

Brett has had nothing positive to say about the club in decades, personally I'm tired of his mindless dribble, it appears the media look to Brett when looking for a negative story about the Eels.

It saddens me, true club legends need to shut the fek up unless they have a constructive comment to make.

Sterlo is a great example of how to offer constructive criticism without stooping to childish, unfounded comments purely to attract attention.

Brett is bitter about his current situation, the club is not to blame for his poor decisions nor does the club owe Brett anything other than granting him a "club legend status"

  • Dudes he has a point... even if Fozza is on board who is gonna want to deal with us ?

    We need a clean out.

    • Jimmy, What's the name of the owl in your avatar? He looks switched on.

    • And he has In The Night Garden
  • Who would be the smartest ex Parra player. John Quayle? Denis Fitzgerald?
    • Steve Edge maybe. I think he's an accountant as well ...salary cap fixer?
