Brenton Lawrence signed

Reports Eels have signed Manly forward Brenton Lawrence for 2018..

He is 32 now. So will be 33 then. Not an inspiring signing

update

A prominent player from a well-to-do Sydney club has been caught on tape snorting cocaine at a well-frequented bar. A club powerbroker though reportedly purchased the tape. Funnily enough, the powerbroker has used the leverage to negotiate a downgraded contract.

Crownbet are reportedly being investigated by the NRL for some very dicey business with their player stat markets.

...

Marika Korobiete is expected to return to the NRL this season with Souths and Canberra the front-runners for his services.

Brenton Lawrence will be at Parramatta next season.

    • hey Wiz. things all good? Countin down the days to Thailand?

  • And forget Korobeite, Souths bound it seems.

  • Agree, not thrilled at all.

If he is replacing someone like O'Brien and is on small contract then possibly OK for a back up but that's it.

  • yeah i dont mind him but its not the player i want

  • The old Parra retirement home still open for business.
  • Hasson would have been better .
  • If right BA is just promoting Parra as a retirement home for washed up mainly Moanly players, who nearly always come to us carrying long time chronic injuries.

  • I hope this isn't true.

"I feel like trials are more a sign of how bright your future will be, it's a lot of your younger and depth options getting a chance to showcase their game. Eels 2027 and onwards looks very bright "

"Yeah it's a pretty swift recovery usually 2-3 weeks. But so early in the season I'm not sure Parra will push him that hard. Even with ado we prob lose to brissy "

Hell On Eels replied to Hell On Eels's discussion Who Said Trials Mean Nothing?
"Wise words, LB. Can't disagree. Trials often lie, but they can also reveal. I'm happy with how 1-28 played, especially the kids. There appears buy in, fitness and cohesion. Hopefully, that isn't an illusion."
