Media losing their shit over us having players off contract all at once , and yet we have the Dolphins who are yet to sign a single player. We have a bunch of backup blokes with NRL careers ahead of them plenty with NRL experience .  They don't.  We already have key players for 2023 on contract , they don't.

why are people buying into this shit ?  All this negative shit is putting the player managers in the drivers seat which is exactly what these articles are being released to do. Chill, we have a whole season to fill spots , plenty of players will be available between now and then.

Would it be so bad to have some of these guys playing for a contract next year ?  It's probably what a few of these kids need a bit of a ego reset for motivation. If they sign elsewhere for big bucks in the meantime do we not think managers will be queuing up to offer us their off contract stars with our chequebook next year?

  • you are right Wizz. There is plenty of time for the dust to settle and plan ahead .I suspect we may see more blooding of new players through out next year as well..For me I would like to see us address  better attack options.I am pretty sure we will be addressing that as a lot of commentary throughout the year has pointed that out. The games against the Storm and Penrith undoubtably has confirmed our competitiveness. The biggest thing any club has is creating a desire to play for a particular club. If the club can have the talent to develop players close to or exceed their potential and the player bonds are good money may become a secondary issue.. I accept for some the temptation to follow the money will always be there.

    • We've seen clubs totally overhaul their squads in a season. Are we going to lose every player that's off contract ? No

Do we have guys in the lower grades that will be able to step up by 2023 ? Yes

Are we a club that can turn an unwanted bum into a good NRL player as a last resort ? Yeah

Will the world end if guys like Dylan Brown and Flufferson start the season needing to prove their asking price ? No way .

We will be ok my old mate.

  • The Tigers and Bulldogs are doing what we did not that long ago, Signing players to long big money contracts and we all know how that played out. We were the kings of the wooden spoon while also being over the cap and it took us years to get out of it.

As we all know, the media are there to sell papers or get hits on their site, so the best way to do that is go hard after the Eels because it is a club with big membership numbers and passionate supporters, Also we can read. No offence Souths supporters.

Think about it, when they write about the Roosters or Storm it is always good news stories because they know we hate them and they will get a reaction from us because of it.

It's time for the club to do what the fans have been sreaming about for years. Give our juniors a go.

  • Yes I know I left the c out of screaming.
