NRL player Brandon Smith has been charged with drug supply and an “inside knowledge” betting offence, after he was interviewed by Queensland police officers at Coolangatta.
The Courier-Mail has confirmed Smith, a South Sydney Rabbitohs player, has been charged with one count of supply dangerous drugs and one count of using or disclosing inside knowledge for betting.

Not to disparage our fine playing roster, incl last years lineup and the fucking barnacles we still have attached....but do not think for 1 min that we are above this. The risk is NRL wide

People laugh , but I think people are just oblivious to how rife it is in the NRL , many players have serious gambling problems and would be easily corrupted. Some of the plays we see weekly are seriously questionable. They're out there giggling after having cricket scores put on them and pulling the oppositions dicks , and we are to blindly believe these guys are so passionate they wouldn't consider a lazy 10k to give away a penalty on their own goalines or drop a ball 10m out from it ?

Makes a lot of sense...tbh there's been some moments when completely inept decisions make me start wondering the same. Hope it's not the case but nothing surprises.
I'd like to think most players aren't in that boat but there would be a few bad apples for sure.
