NRL player Brandon Smith has been charged with drug supply and an “inside knowledge” betting offence, after he was interviewed by Queensland police officers at Coolangatta.
The Courier-Mail has confirmed Smith, a South Sydney Rabbitohs player, has been charged with one count of supply dangerous drugs and one count of using or disclosing inside knowledge for betting.

Surely being charged is enough for the club to stand him down. Had it been Lewis Dodd or a nobody at Souths they are gone.

YeahYeah, but did he get caught red-handed with the drugs he is accused of supplying. Were they recreational or performance enhancing? An unsupported allegation brought JDB unstuck, but supply and gambling anomalies found while he was being actively investigated for reasons unknown....thatisn't enough to stand him down?

They have lots of down time and lots of disposable income. The more you earn the more you blow. How much they earn is irrelevant as they just gamble larger amounts . Many mingle with shady characters who gravitate to NRL players for their profile and money .
What do wannabe bikie gangsters and NRL players have in common ? Hot women. These guys move in similar circles due to women and money. Doesn't take much for players and crooks to become associated . A player gets himself in a hole with betting or drugs and all of a sudden it's favours owing.,
So the NRL, Integrity Unit and Rabbitohs have known for a while and in that time the Rabbitohs have won 3 in a row, all games he has played in.
The guy is a serial pest and renowned for such behavior he's been accused and charged of.
I am not sure why it has taken this long to come out however I am not surprised.

That's true mate. Im not sure if brandon has a young family, but anyone who has dependants and blows all their wages on gambling its just selfishness.
Pokies are the worst, complete stealing from people. If I had advice for anyone, its to stay away from pokies completely. Its too easy to fall into the trap of playing small amounts, then trying to reclaim your losses. Stear clear.
