Steve Kearney i beleive is favouring Tom Humble as the number one contender for our vacant halfback spot in 2011 in all the video footage that i have seen suggests that Steve Kearney is favouring Tom Humble over the new comer Brad Murray.
Tom Humble has been praised by Peter Sterling and Andrew Johns as the player that the Eels should give the first shot at the vacant halfback position. Rightfully you could probably make and argument that Humble is entitled to the first shot.
Humble has a few things going for him i think:
- Has first grade expierence ( Little )
- Older than Murray
- Good defender
- Can play mutiple postions ( 5/8 HB and FB)
Brad Murray on the other hand is has come through the toyota cup system and is regarded as one of the best halfbacks in toyota cup ranks. From what i hear he has a good kicking game and can goal kick and has little bit of speed. But the thing is can Murray be a sucess in the Nrl i think he will be but he needs a shot.
The reality is that our halfback will be one of these boys baring Orford signs with us although that looks unliklely.
I think that SK will give Humble the first shot although it is early days i just think SK is favouring Humble thus far.
My opinion is that Murray should be get the first shot i just have a feeling about him i think he has what it takes to make it
For me the halves in 2011 are Mortimer / Murray

Matt where the hell do you get this info from??...honestly dude you've got no idea.
Tom Himble whos that
Humble can play half 5/8 and FB he has played all three of these positions in his career at one time or an other in his career think about what your saying.
That's where he played for the Northern Pride in the Q Cup.
He's made the shift to fullback for Wenty, but towards the back-end of the year, he did get a crack at 5/8.
He hasn't played a lot of halfback, and thus I wouldn't play him there because of that.
You either play him at 5/8, or nowhere. I'd say fullback, but whilst Hayne is there, Humble won't be playing fullback in first-grade.
I think people are going waaaay overboard with murray. I woulda thought Humble was more in line for a halves spot, otherwise what was the point in bringing him down here. QLD cup still aint NRL standard, but it's a damn sight better than Toyota Cup.
