BRAD ARTHUR ..IT's A DONE DEAL!

Hardly breaking news,  but just to let you know the deal with Brad Arthur has been done.

I spoke with a mate at the game tonight who is on the Manly Board and is good mates with Brad Arthur he signed on to be the next Eels coach last Friday.

It has not been announced yet until the GF is out of the way but Arthur has already spoken with the Manly players to advise he is going and they have wished him well -  albeit the massive task he has in front of him.

  • You heard it from a mate. It has to be true.

  • So they went with the players choice and not the fans, wow thats unusual. The players have gotten us 2 spoons and the fans have suffered because of that but lets give the players what they want. I have no problem with Brad Arthur but i honestly thought they would give the fans what they asked for this time. Stupid me.

    • New board, why would the board take Joe blows advice? Who are we? Honestly, take a chill pill! Do you think any of the top sides pick a coach by what the fans want? That would be no!!
    • Manchester United.

      Heard of them...???

    • Here here. As much as I'd like our say to count, I don't believe it should either. Some of us on here are prettty clued up on here as fans and footy knowledge and soeme of us are off our heads with no idea as well. If we dictated who coached we could be in big trouble. As for the player I think it's good to get their opinions and take them on board as long as decision was not solely based on that which I doubt it was. Sounds like they have gone the route everyone on the board and players could accept and agree with to a certain degree. Whilst a lot love Jt, there was a few real concerns for some people which would have led to huge pressure very early if the going got tuff. I'm a massive Jt fan and want him here as much as poor old Mac does but I can see where people are coming from with their concerns and believe it's probably better off to have a united decision moving forward with.

  • The fans are useless; all they want is what is best for the club.

  • Its not the players decision either. We buy the memberships, tickets to the games, apparel. Without the fans there is no club. Our players take the money we make for the club and then they under perform. Who should have more of a say?

      • Agreed we don't really know what factors were involved in that decision. As long as it wasnt solely based on what the players asked for.

      • In that case the board had made its mind up before they interviewed JT.

  • SACK BRAD ARTHUR...

"I wouldn't mind him. I like your idea of using him as the Dylan Walker type.
I think we might go for Galvin, but if we don't then I see the club waiting on Fletcher, Talataina to mature into the halves. Until they do, I can see us signing a guy…"

"Everyone saying no would flop their dicks out and start stroking the moment he signed.
To me it's a no brainer. If he's available and is keen to play under Ryles and with Moses, it's a massive yes from me. We need a wrecking ball that can run hard…"

Should eels make a play for Sandon Smith, Roosters will let him go with DCE coming in next year. They rate Savala & Rodwell with Walker as futures.I see we could use Smith as a 14 role. Also kicks goals. Very quick.Ryles would have a relationship…
