I've heard Arthur interviewed a few times this year, when asked about his goals for season his standard answer is "we haven't spoken about any goals, we want to improve each week"
I call bullshit.
After listening to Arthur and Hayne during the presser, it became clear to me that Brad has set goals for 2014.
Arthur "If we wanna be a genuine threat in the competition we need to be better with our patients" What? No dark days? no 5 year plan, no weak roster? No excuses?
And Hayne "Not playing like a top four team yet" yet? Hayne believes too, he believes we will be playing like a top 4 team.
Brad Arthur, you are a liar! Don't go spinning tails about having no set goals for this season, you have set goals, you are planning a top 4 finish and plan to challenge for the title. Shame on you.

After the last 27 years the shock may be too much for some.
I don't think BA has communicated anything but personal goals to his players because he wants them to concentrate on every game. He let slip what he believes is possible when he rested Hayne and said it would be different if it was a semi-final. There is no doubt he believes this side has huge potential but he also knows the wheels could fall off. In summary, I believe BA when he says "we have not set goals."
I thought so too Bernie until I heard the latest presser. His goal is to win the comp, he has been caught out. I'm with IH8Manly, It's going to be hard to respect Brad.
In the end, it's the children who suffer.
Now Joseph, u should know that BA does not lie, he is a coach of respected & impeccable integrity. A fib is not a lie, we all know that. A Blue n Gold Fib is unblemished advocacy & is fully permissible under the fans unwritten Unicorn ethos.

Michael, I agree with you 99.95% of the time, after the last 4 years my expectations have turned to dust. I was comfortable with Brad's analysis that improving beyond a wooden spoon is an achievement.
Under Brad Arthur Sio stands on his wing and can catch a ball, Sandow is noted defended, our juniors are performing and now Brad wants to win a comp in his first year. It too much Michael, too much.
His under11's team has gone on strike.
