Blog Cherry Popped

Hi team, long-time listener first time caller & just wanted to highlight Danny Wicks' efforts last night which may have been missed in the press articles & blogs I have read post-match on 1EE.

According to SMH he played 57mins & NRL stats say he ran the most of any forward on the park (141m) & had most total runs of ALL players (18). At the stadium it looked as though he didn't come off till after half-time, which is HUGE for a middle forward these days. I think he has turned himself into Parra's forward leader through action & really stepped up his contribution to the team's efforts. When you consider the guys' history & his age - its an effort worth highlighting when all everyone is talking about this morning is Semi & Frenchie.

Chris, good luck with the EGM signature's, I'm spewing I gave 2014 membership a pass & am not a 3 year in a row member. I find it laughable that a club with membership of over 20k has around 500? eligible voters to decide the management & therefore direction of the club. The club needs change & a fresh slate with individuals with business acumen running the club not ex-footballers or vested interests as we all agree on this site.

Long 1st blog, but thanks for listening.

  • Welcome Burty and good first blog, Wicks played the whole first half it was a mighty effort.

Not sure if he is signed next year but he is making hard for BA to not re-sign him.

  • Has been great for us for weeks now. A real fowards leader IMO.
  • Great first blog wicks defiantly deserves his spot in this team every week
  • Thanks Burty.

There are about 23000 eligible voters and the most that have been to any AGM in recent history is 280.

Approximately 1500 of the 23000 voted last election. The first thing we need to do is change our apathetic approach to having our say.
