Blake Green

I noticed that he is killing it at 5/8 for the Storm. If I'm not mistaken, didn't he play lower grades for us and maybe even a handful of 1st grade games? I know he then went to the sharks and then to England. I can't believe how Bellamy always gets the very best out of his players. Green is playing out of his skin and I can't imagine he would be on much coin!!

  • He played Second row at the bulldogs. Believe it or not.
  • Blake Green was my favourite junior for a long time, and I'm so stoked to see him making a fist of being back in the NRL. When I heard he's signed with the Storm, I was like - yep, they finally got the right guy to partner Cronk. Experienced halves tend to come back from the Super League too late in their careers; Green has come back right in his prime and he's making a perfect foil for Cronk.

I remember Green and James Maloney tearing up reggies for us with absolute monotony and it once again shows that halves are about not so much picking the right players, but picking the right players at the right stage of their careers AND getting them playing alongside the right halves partner.

  • Smith, Cronk, and Slater are so good and they've played together for so long that any other player in an "attacking" position don't have to do as much and can relax knowing that those 3 will more than likely be able to pull the team out of the wreck. It also helps a lot now that they have some good forwards in Jesse Bromwich, Kevin Proctor, and Tohu Horris.

Once these 3 retire it'll be much harder for the Storm to take numpties and make them solid first grade players. Bellamy will also retire at this time.
