Bitcoin and other cryptos

Not sure if anyone here as put some money into to these coins.

Started following again a few months ago. It looks to me that this will be like the dot com boom, where a lot of people made easy money.

I think these coins still have a long way left to rise as they are just starting to become mainstream.

I recommend Bitcoin and Litecoin as the safest and strongest - don't trust me - do your own research

Much better than betting on sports. These things sometimes retrace but the good ones always seem to come back stronger.

Bitcoin has gone up 10-fold this year and Litecoin 50-fold. They look like they can keep going up next year as there is still many more investors to come in. Many are also useful. You can buy stuff with many of these - from electronics to cars and houses. Once you own them it is quick and cheap to transfer money anywhere.

Maybe just put in a little money that you can afford to lose and you will see what I mean. Other more risky coins that I like are Monacoin, Groestlcoin, Vertcoin and Omisego.

Buy the dips and hold or sell the peaks.

Never trust anyone's advice include this advice (check my avatar) but worth considering. Make your own decision.

Let me know if you want any advice on how to start or store your coins

  • Funnily enough I purchased some ethereum shares today..
I definitely can't keep gong north like it is.
    • Do you own any others?
    • No mate..
I've looked into it only a bit, but I'll keep an eye on it and see if I believe it's worth investing in a few others.
Bitcoin is a bit expensive for me..
  • No thanks!
  • How to you convert bitcoin to cash? Great to have 1 million bit coin in the cyber world but how do you transfer that over to real world cash???? Serious question!!!
    • 1. Transfer your bitcoins to an Australian exchange such a Coinspot or Coinjar and sell for AUD. You will probably lose about 3% compared to what you would have got if you sold it for USD on a US exchange

      2. Sell it for USD on a US/UK exchange (eg Bitstamp) and transfer the money to your bank from their bank.

      3. Buy something with it in Australia or in another country and get it shipped here. If the seller is happy some people have bought cars and houses

    • I was waiting the last six months for the big drop to get in but it did not happen. So I got in at around $7000 per bit coin.
It has been added to Bloomberg’s feed. Should be added to a large hedgefund soon. And Goldman Sachs or someone like them is thinking about starting an exchange to give their clients easy access. The word is that it should get to $25k next year. If it hits big time financial circles this target should be easy. But who knows what disaster could be around the corner.

    • Lol, yep I reckon Pyramid Scheme is the best way to describe it.

As the oldies always say; If it looks to good to be true, it probably is.

      • I must be old....that is MO as well Kram.

The problem is that more and more people see and read this and eventually the music will stop, did you get a chair?.....that said it is there to be manipulated.

Wile, is there any hedging or futures market, over the counter options in this, the clearing houses have to cover their arses some how....how do they do it do you know?

    • No more imaginary than pieces of paper with ink on them.
ICOs may be a pyramid scheme
But coins like Bitcoin and Litecoin are currencies. They are being developed to be used. They are being used as currency but still have more work to be fully usable. These developments are happening eg lightening network.
