Surfer eel, welcome aboard mate, great first blog.
What i like is our old logo, if you look closely it has one of the first fleet in the background and the Aboriginal in the canoe, thus acknowledging both parties and celebrating a new Australia.
Sadly that logo would be off limits these days.
Surfer tell us a bit about Surfer mate?
I got this years ago. I actually showed this to the Graham Langlands and it had a pic of him in it and he signed it for me.
You make a great point about that logo Snakey. I think the concept is great and may alert people to our heritage at Parramatta as the second oldest city in the country and the natural fit we had with our indigenous friends.
Why need a voice, when you have a HISTORY!
BINGO! pops.
History seems to be getting erased of late
Aunty Snakey - Gadigeel Elder Good point Snake and you're spot on. It's basic history and acknowledgement of both cultures.
Jesus Snakey, you've used a big shoehorn there to insert your latest ideological bugbear into the conversation.
It also seems great that the designer of the old logo did well to foreshadow the future pollution of the river by making the water green and the future growth of Polynesian players in the game by adding Palm trees on the river bank :)
love it brings back alot of memories going to the old cumberland oval with the parra parra parra chant going out. ron lynch a real champion
Great piece of media history there Surfer . Is Bailey Simmonson related to
Ron Lynch ? . I think I can see similarities from Ron's photo.
Mind you now I can see a bit of of a certain current Roosters lock forward in Ron Lynch as well .
Love our history - Ron Lynch one of our greats, played 17 times for NSW and 12 test matches for Australia. He captain / coached us the 1970 season as well.
