Bit of advice, why I am Parra happier

Guys, I have to say it wasn't so ong ago I blogged on how devasted I was with the Eels and I love the club so much I was really getting down in the dumps until a week or so ago I just decided to stop reading any Parra related negative articles. I see headlines like "Greenberg rejects Parra bias" or "Parra culture a shambles" etc and I simply don't read it, be it on here or the paper.

The result? The world is brighter!!! haha. Boys, people are going to continue to smash our club for whatever agenda driven reasons until next year. To be honest, every article I read about investigations and stuff doesn't tell me anything new!!

So, if our beloved footy club is driving you mad I say stick to the footy replated articles or threads. Team lists, who replaces who, players we'd like to target, game threads etc. I promise you, you'll be happier!!!

  • P.S Have a great weekend and bring on the RIFF!!

  • The sunshine is about to come out on parra I reckon
  • I just hope and prey the next board is a united board and independent from all historical bullshit. Let's move on start the healing process and start getting behind out lads and Arthur because they are turning up each week busting their backsides. I'm loving this siege mentality that's why these oxygen thieves are continuing write the negative stories. But the lads are still winning and competing. Blue and gold til I die!!
  • Been doing the same Steve, no need to worry about articles that are just click bait and selling papers. Only a few have any substance to them. We can't control it as fans so it's a whole lot easier to do what the players do, just skip it all together. Focusing purely on our on-field performances, it's been a good year. We're 10 wins and 6 losses. When was the last time we had that good a record? 07?
  • The best way.

    • Slugg and Steve, appreciate your opinions while realising we can all handle the disappointments and baggage in many varied ways. Some of us may need to opt out of reading continual episodes of gloom and doom about our club. But it usually takes us only a small period out of the fight to refresh.

While accepting it's painful to hear any new Anti-Parra garbage, I feel it's better to know what we have to defend than to tune out and be ignorant of the opposition we face.

When I feel down, I push myself to remember the fight our players and Coach have put up on our behalf!

In this, on one hand forgettable year, I've been able to see demonstrated on this site, a spirit of solidarity and optimism by all the members that inspires me to always recall, folding is not an option.

God, I love being amongst a Band of Eels.

  • Agree steve & am exactly the same. We all know 99.9% of article's regarding parra will be negative 1's so to save myself from exploding over & over again, I just don't read! Obviously I find out 2nd hand through ppl who can't wait to lay the boot in, but when you shrug your shoulders & just walk away, they simply stop with there stories. Although deep down it kills me, walking away, not reading & talking about it does actually work. Good advice!
