Bigger than coaches or players

I would like to hear from the passionate fans on this site about the below...So we are all pointing fingers at many things but mainly BA. But can i get thoughts on a bigger and longer problem the club as a whole. In the past 10 years we have had multiple coaches, support staff, recruitment officers, executives and board members. Experts and members of this site have lobbied for individuals and endorsed countless "saviors", but the fact remains we are amongst the worst sporting organizations in the country when we should be one of the best.So let's look bigger picture and move past the BA and Bernie bashing and discuss how we need to move forward. Is there even a way? Cause st this moment in time i can't picture anything hopeful inside the next decade.

  • No coach lasts forever. Bellamy and bennett are two outliers.

Arthur, Gurr and the lot made poor decisions in the off-season which have cost us significantly.

We need a fresh coach with fresh ideas just look at souths with seibold

    • Parramatta have been the carbon copy of how not to run a club or business over the past 12 years.

The people the club have either elected or hired to run the club have been poor choices who have not made smart decisions.

Unfortunately since Brian Smith left, we haven't had anyone with the brains to run the club.

It has just been appointment after appointment of clueless people which has contributed to the way the club is today.

The only way forward is to hire/employ smarter people that not only think about today but are also prepared to evolve with the changing of the world and plan for the future.

      • It’s becau for years everyone was jealous of Dennis Fitz all wanted his job they don’t give a fuck about our club it’s alll $$$$$$& for there pockets

    • Who is asking you to be patient?

      • BA during one of his pressers that's who.

The audacity of the bloke to aske the fans and sponsors for patience as though we only won a comp two years ago.

    • x100.

Well said Avenger. All the successful clubs change coaches regularly. In fact, successful clubs change coaches even after successful seasons. At Parra we love mediocrity and we love excepting excuses, especially form this bum.

  • The concept of moneyball is a precarious thing.
If it works - youre a visionary, if it doesn't or it goes bad, it goes bad in a BIG way.
Bernie, Donnelly and the Board looked at 2017 and knew they has to cut costs so they thought they could squeeze the dry lemon just one more time - but it's completely dry.
If you notice, they hadn't renewed BA contract at the end of 2017. I think they are well aware of his shortcomings regarding his coaching ability and have no intention of ever renewing his contract after 2019 but hoped to be semi competitive this year so they could make the decision.
    The best laid plans....
The club is an absolute and unmitigated shambles.
The penny pinches will not sack BA but the damage will last for many years.
    • Unfortunately I agree. The damage from this year will last for a very long time.
    • FH you don’t think that just possibly, ’moneyball’ type  recruitment was the only option open...just possibly not by coaches complete choice!? What makes people here think they are better placed to identify who/what type of players needed, but the coach is not...even a nuffie like myself can.

you don’t think the 15-16 period affected our recruitment and how long and  much we had to pay to attract!?

We must have seemed so attractive to player managers in that period...not!

those ‘moneyball’ Players did perform with heart and courage in the preceding years...they are now done.

Brad may or may not deserve all the criticism for his coaching ability, but moneyball recruitment is a far stretch.

Bernie and Max stuffed up in TPA less signing policy and how they approached the Mess coming out of it. Instead of throwing funds and resources at it they did the opposite...they have shown no regards for the long term well being of the footy side of things. The first thing they should’ve done is recruit to the position DA made vacant pretty much in 15.

its too obvious that they virtually have strangled the life out of the coach in every way and I’m finding the scapegoating completely disgusting!

if you believe Brad should get the sack...why not the  penny pinchers sack themselves?
