A topline halfback who Parramatta have previously chased ... and who would solve all of the our problems is not happy with his club and looking for a release.

The only problem with this is that he is negotiating a 3 year deal for 2011 with the Tigers and if they do land this player i would be putting all of my money on them to win the title...

The player isnt happy with the coach and others aspects of the club and if he leaves it will be massive news...

This isnt over the line yet.... but i got the news straight from the sourc

  • We'll take Moltzen then......
  • Thurston has been stripped of the captaincy, mind you it was because he flopped his "crutch" out at the casino at the bar.... He has been hauled over the coals and his team is going nowhere fast.....
There are alot of problems up there in North Queensland...
and i heard this as i said straight from the source
  • Surely the tigers would not have the money.

I think only parra would have decent money left in cap
  • I would think they would have to seriously backload the contract... and then offload some players to do it but i can guarantee you ... whether it comes to fruition or not they are negoitating with him.
He wants to win a premiership and we wont do it with the cowboys
  • I can't see Thurston going to the Tigers when they have Benji and Lui.
The Tigers see Lui as the future leader of the halves, so I doubt they'd sign Thurston if that is the case.

Pretty sure Thurston isn't too displeased with the Cowboys either.
I mean yes, they haven't had the best season, but with their strong recruitment drive and a fit JT, I'm sure he'd love to stay on and see how the Cowboys will fare with an improved side from last year.
  • Not too fussed if JT does go to the Tigers to be honest. Would be a helluva lot more pi$$ed off if it was Cronk going there. Thurston, as great as he is, has really underachieved leading a Cowboys side around that on paper is as good as any side over the last 5 years. There's something about the bloke that seems amiss to me - can't quite put my finger on what it is. I'd sooner take a Cronk, or Prince or Carney or perhaps even Mitchell Pearce over Thurston....well, maybe not Pearce.... but the others definitely...
  • Put your money on Cronk NOT jt.

We should then make a play for Lui and/or Moltzen- Tigers would have to unload some players to fit Cronk.
  • So you walked up to Jonathon Thurston in the street and he told you all this aye?

Look I have no doubt that the Cowboys are an absolute rabble right now (may just get a whole lot worse) and there is obvious tension between the coach and players but mate this sounds pretty darn far-fetched for mine.

Plus the Tigers would be at the brink of their cap regardless.

If it is true, even if there are rumours about it, then credits yours. Until then, pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffftttt
  • You talk about marquee players. I believe it's very hard to fit more than two in any side under a salary cap today, unless you do a Melbourne. They already have Marshall and farah. If they got a cronk for example, I think Schubert and his team will be down at concord quick smart.
  • Well if it is the Tigers, then we should definitely make a play for Moltzen.
