Big News On Lomax

The inside information and this is from a credible source,  - This Saturday will be the last game Lomax will play in the red V.  Make of this what you will.  Parramatta are odds on and have made it known through the media that we are after him.

Whether he joins the eels or another team, I've only been told that He'll be playing in other colours in the next few weeks.

  • This was already pretty heavily hinted - the Dragons and Flanno said they were going to put any talks of him leaving on ice until after Round 4 (ie this weekend). Lomax then doubled down and keeps telling every man and his dog he wants to go (as evidenced by Hunt also confirming it).

The Dragons don't want to pay $800k to play someone who doesn't want to be there in a position they don't want to play. As soon as the Dragons can work out a deal that works for them (swap deal, offloading a very significant part of his salary) Lomax will be gone.

The issue I have with him is the price tag, he's not worth the money he's on.

    • I have someone i work with who knows Ryan Carr from wife's side of the family. I said does he have any inside word on Lomax and said not exactly but Carr told him pretty much over half the squad want out if they are able to. They see it as a sinking ship with nobody wanting to go there.

  • This will only happen if they get a player in return, this was in todays sports confidential in the daily telegraph.

however a name of that player hasn't been revealed as a potential player swap

    • Could it be Wiremu Greig? Would explain how he has been back for 2 weeks now and is behind Moretti and Ogden in pecking order.

      • Could be blaize,  they could see him as a future star 5/8.

        • And we will see him as our future 1

      • Hope not LB. I love Grieg . He is a best of a young man and just needs more fitness IMO. Don't think they'll part with Blaize . They can keep Lomax

        • I am losing a little patience with Greig. I like him, but he has shown he is prone to injuries, wonder if that is due to size, and fitness problems. Greig is a talent and can be a great Prop in the game, but with the bench the way it is he may get 15-20 a game, Moretti can do same job. I would rather give up a player like Greig for Lomax. Could Greig start post RCG and Paulo leaving the club? Perhaps but bit concerned if he can stay out there as long as them. He is a different type of Prop compared to most. His best role is as an impact forward in short stints.

          • We definitely need Lomax more than we need Grieg. Plus I back BA to develop gun forwards if we need to. We already have amazing forwards coming through our Matt, SG and Flegg team.

            • Well Tuivaiti is already on a top 30 deal for 2025. Wouldn't be surprised we buy a few depth Props next year too and one becomes decent.

We can then get a bunch of Qld players but leave them up there to thrive in their local environment."
