Has anyone had any experience with this type of stuff ? It something the mrs and I have discussed many times and I've had a bit of a Google around however can't find a lot of info on hiw you go about these programs and what's required .It's something we've always been interested in doing , we find ourselves often mentioning how it's a shame that on many occasions we find ourselves with an extra bed in our kids rooms etc that could be utilised by kids that may not get to experience things that we do . Our biggest fear is becoming too attached to the children and not wanting to give them back I spose , and how much red tape is there in going through the process ? We are very happy to go through the meetings etc and I already have working with children certs etc , but is it a frustratingly long process ? . There seems to be nothing in the Wollongong area to do with these programs so I guess I was curious if any of our resident bible bashers could tell me if the churches sometimes had these running ( as long as I don't have to go to church ) ?Just very curious and have been thinking about doing something like this for years. We are very fortunate that we do many great activities through the year and always seem to find ourselves discussing how great it'd be to share them with some lesser fortunate kids . Fuckk the other week we had a spare kids bed at Roar and Snore that was about three hundgy down the drain .If anyone does this or has done this happy for you to throw me an inbox please .

    • Not really leaning towards fostering right now as even we don't know how we will go . More keen just to find out how you start the ball rolling in just taking some poor little buggers on day excursions for now and then hopefully weekends away when we go with our kids for now .

The wife and I have potential to see some of these kids home lives and become too emotionally attached so am treading really lightly into things . It's just if you go on the Big Brothers / sisters website it really gives you stuff all info so was wondering if anyone here had experience .
