Bevan French & Running mechanics

Did anyone else think Bevan French looked a much more powerful footballer and was it my imagination or did anyone else think that the "running mechanics" training has resulted in us looking a lot faster everywhere?

    • Yes totally agree I said sack alby last year - thank god they listened

    • Penerna hates Parra with a passion by sounds of it tried his hardest to help Newcastle. Every ref seems to hate Parra. NRL only want the 'favourites' to win the comp. Parra have them worried. It's funny how so many supporters on this site bagg the players yet as a unit we have the potential to be the best team, if only the refs would allow us to play footy.
    •  penerna robbed bevan  two trys, why does penerna got it for parra seeing he played for the eels?  he was the ref who cost parra a win over newcastle, when parra was winx odds at $1.20...parra was electric last night and out played newcastle ,and parra missed 6 goals as well..

    • I don't think Peranara hates the eels..if you read the knights forum they are whinging that Peranara hates them!
I just believe he is a very poor referee. He's a product of the NRL trying to push ex players to take up the whistle on the premise that he played the game so he will be a good ref.
Unfortunately he is woeful. In fact there is Matt Chechin then daylight. Chechin is absolutely miles in front of any referee going around.
He takes no crap from players and is the only official willing to stand up to Cam Smith.
  • Bevan had looked like has bulked up a little bit, Agree Caro we both wanted the Cougar gone early doors. He was a step backwards, hopefully his new bloke is able to bring something to be table not seen in RL.

    • Yes I think it will really help with technique and fatigue , hopefully we will have the edge at the end of second half

  • Cougar was a great trainer in his day.

Sports scientist are just that, a scientist who understand what training is beneficial for different codes and then different positions and different players physiology. Include physios, medics etc, working hand in hand, you will notice a great difference this year.

    • Vinci his " day" was at least a decade ago if not two

  • His day was in the 70's when the boys would knock off half a slab after training.

    • And ten b and h

"Storm either get him this year or not at all, so player swap next year is quite impossible. But I agree I think a swap is hard as Melbourne are that proud in what they are doing they won't have a sense of losing by caving in.

"As much as I'd like Lomax to sit out from the nrl for the next 3 years (and he should) realistically that isn't happening. It isn't fair.
That is what this court case is all about, to determine what is fair. So it isn't 100% right or 100% wrong (or…"
