I dont mind French in the evenings myself.
Dave Brown in the 1930,s scored 38 tries in a season in Aus
I can accept Frenchs tries were scored in the UK but it still an achievement you can,t simply dismiss .I could not find a record for tries scored by an individual player in the UK.

Martin Offiah scored 10 tries in one game, he must have had a big collection of tries that season
He scored 58 tries in 41 games in the 87-88 season for Widnes. He scored 53 in 38 games in 94-95 season. All up he scored 446 tries in 424 career games.
Just phenomenal.
Incidentally, the game he scored 10 in a game, he "only" scored 30 that season.

When I was in the UK a man asked me in a bar if I was an Aussie. I told him proudly , yes , yes fine sir I am an Aussie. He was like , can you catch and pass a rugby league ball ? I said , yes , yes I can catch and pass a rugby league ball. Turns out this gent was the coach of the Wigan Warriors and nek minnit I was scoring tires on the wing for them. Scored 30 tries that seaon I did.
If it wasn't you I'd believe tfaf story. It's funny though, Sterlo still rates the season he spent at Hull the most enjoyable of his career.

I liked Bevan too but after that 1 single hit up all game vs the Raiders in the capital he was done for in BA's and many others eyes.
Wing was never the place for him. He'd have made a decent running 5/8. Speed to burn. Not so much at full back because of the rag-dolling though it seems he has beefed up a bit.
In regards to the SL. I had a good chat with a Warrington fan a couple years back and he admited even the last placed NRL team would batter the best English side. The intensity, defence and fitness level of NRL players way ahead of them. Brett Kenny is still carries GOD status in Wigan he added.
