As shown by this link, Fox Sports report that eels are considering to swap Gutho to centre (Jenko possble suspension = retirement) and French to fullback. I know the need for speed has increased with the new 6 again rule, but holy fuck. FUCK OFF, if you want to move King Gutho from fullback. I personally believe he has been the best player this year behind Nathan Cleary, and I expect this to be shown through the Dally M. With Sivo's lack of involvement, I dont see French playing wing because than our outside backs will be making barely any running meters. I have never seen French play centre, and I highly doubt he would suit this position. French can play five-eight but I see D Brown as our future. His peformance for a 19/20 year old half is better than the likes of Cronk, Cleary and that age. Moving D Brown to halfback and B French do five-eight wouldnt happen because Brown is still to young to lead a team around and we would also have a terrible kicking game. Plus, I think the club want to back Moses for at least another year.
P.S I do like French but I can't see him making the starting 13. He could possible be used as a 14 and play the super sub role that Papenhyuzen did when he first started playing for the storm last year.

A really silly idea to bring French back especially at the risk of putting Gutherson into the centres. I really dont understand the thinking behind the Eels recruitment drive. They need to make better purchasing decisions.
French is actually a decent back up. As long as we are not paying over, I believe this is actually a pretty good signing. Last year, he was absolutely smashing reserve grade sides.

Also, Gutho would know himself that he could easily get a fullback spot at another club. So for God's sake, he is our club captain and eels best player of 2020. He would not be happy to be playing in the centres and rightly so. I wouldn't want the King to leave.
If so, Gutho will ask for a release

I dunno about this. French left in a huff, pretty pissed off and buggered off to Pommyland. Now it seems to me that Parra has come crawling back to him...why don't we look for a decent centre in the SL, someone who wants a run in NRL. I know we had shit players (Lee Mossop spirings to mind and that halfback who did f**k all back in the early 90s) but maybe we should look at someone instead of French.
