I vote "Maytime" as the saddest movie ever made if you have ever loved and lost. There are some Opera moments that if you are not a fan just sit through but the overarching theme is love once found can never be forgotten. Some amazing musical sequences including two of the most beautiful love songs ever written "Will You Remember" by Sigmund Romberg and the "Czaritza" opera scene written specifically for this movie and based on Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony.. Goodbye Mr Chips 1939. Robert Donat won best actor for his portrayal of the life of a teacher at.a boys college over sixty years much to the disgust of Clark Gable who expected he would get the award for his role in Gone With The Wind. The closing scene as he passes away gets me every time and I've watched it many times.

Gee it has been a long time since I saw an oldie movie. So many things I like about them. The "NEW" is not necessarily the best.I recently bought an antique chair for my study room. Love it
