  • Dave a quality side is consistent and plays tough.. not us yet. We have potential but not footy smarts or patience. That first half was a complete embarrassment regardless of the Nights never being onside.

When it mattered our forwards were monstered by a decent but hardly impressive pack...a worrying sign.

The game is not dead yet but we need to wake up!

  • He’s 100% right .

Gutho was invisible today . He’s a high energy player at his best . When he’s energy is off like it was today there isn’t much else to his game .

Moses is a priority I feel . He tried his best today but is really lacking a 6 at the moment .

BA has serious flaws in his coaching . I think we all realise he’s attempting to rectify a lot of them as we go on. Maybe the next thing will be getting a team up for more than 1 week in a row . Have we ever won 4 in a row in his tenure ? 3 in a row ? We seriously struggle for 2 in a row .

    • That’s the truth - we simply can’t pkay consistent footy and unfortunately that falls at the coaches feet.

You can see that we have the cattle to play at a high level, we just don’t have a coach that can get the best out of them week in week out.

I wouldn’t resign BA based on his history - but that’s just me.

      • yeah the whole 45% win thing and negative for and against every year bar one of his coaching ain’t a great look.

I think we’re in a tricky situation with the coach . There’s been changes to the team over the last 12 months that wouldn’t have been made if we were even average last season. Changes like getting rid of Norman’s dopey brain , adding a genuine dummy half for the first time in years , playing with more width and ball movement . Replacing Semi with first grade quality wingers not useless ex centres ..  It’s like BA has to fail to change . Our game is based on energy . BA has shown he can get a team to bounce back so I have no doubt next week the energy will be better .

We shouldn’t be losing to the bottom placed team being out enthused week 7 of the season coming off a wooden spoon. But I think even though most die hard BA supporters would have seen it coming based on the last 6 seasons. We weren’t prepared at all today .

  • This is exactly why Gutho isn't worth 750K. He is good and is the heart and soul of our team but he won't win a game single handedly and needs a good team around him to win a comp. Paying him rep money to not play like a rep player, and he didn't tonight, is club suicide. Moses is the same. He is great when it comes to attacking flair but struggles when our team is on the back food. BA's one out from the ruck plays are to predicatble and are easy to manage with a team that is pushing up fast with enthusiasm.

  • Dave , Jack Gibson could coach the current Eels team and it wouldnt make an iota of difference because its the NRL and their goons the referees who control and manipulate the outcome of games.

    • sook

bad teams cry at the refs

      good teams overcome them

    • mate brian smith all 3 grades without superstars made finals every year its a simple game you pass u score u win

  • I think the Eels should resign Gutho and Moses but we’ve got to realise that at the moment they are not going to deliver us a premiership. Gutho is a momentum player. He needs quick play the balls and need to improve in a number of areas if he wants Marquee money. ie: Taking the hard hit ups when the team need a captains run. Gutho hangs around the ruck waiting for markers to fall off and then he runs. More tough runs required. Moses goes really well when we front run and looks like a state of origin player in waiting. When he is pressured he struggles. Both players need to fix up a few minor flaws and the Eels will be flying. Bottom line is they have the potential to be very good but at the right price.

  • Signining BA wil be more of the same for his next contract. The players wont play for him or their jersy or even their own self respect.

There are very few Paramatta players who aspire to be champion players of the club. No one aspires to play for their state at Parra and club level football is where their career is. The players survive at Parra in their own comfort zone knowing that there is very little competition for their position in the team.

BA has resigned these players.  I think BA is a poor judge of players.

On the players. The players are 'PARRAMATTA' while they hold a contract at the club. They stop being yobbo's and they 'collectivly emboby everything' decent and 'law abiding in the community'. The players have distinction of wearing the 'Blue and Gold jersy' worn by so many champion players of the Parramatta Club. The players dont seem to buy into this . They get paid to train and to turn up to make up the numbers on game day. They seem to have no real interest to dominate or overcome adversity as a individual player or team. I am sure that the players can lift weights at training but it often dosnt transpire to strength on game day.

The culture at the club sucks. Who is the motivator at the club. Who do the players play for?. The West's game proved that the team can do it. The champion team/players do it week in week out. We have all heard this quote. Better never stops.

As a supporter I really really want to see the players as individuals push themselves  and beleive in themselves that they can become champions. The players careers are short enough and the damage they sustain is the same for all of them. Guys make the football world start talking your name/ dont disappear into football obliving as just another player. This is your moment in time - noone but yourseves are stopping you from becomming champions
